Tizwa is the kind of place that makes you go “ahh …” the minute you swoosh through the door. TOP 10 RIADS IN MARRAKECH - THE GUARDIAN NEWSPAPER'S REVIEW
I stayed at the Riad for 3 days. My friend cancelled on me last minute so as a woman I was a bit nervous about travelling Morocco on my own. I also was very happy about having some "Me" Time and to catchup on some sleep. I could not have picked a better place.
I selected the room No1 which is the largest one on the 1st floor. Very peaceful and minimalist. A beautiful vintage beni ourain carpet on the floor. A hidden walk-in wardrobe. A nice bathrobe with a tassel in the bathroom. Every morning, the moment I opened my windows onto the central area of the riad, the staff knew I was ready for breakfast. How great is this? I had my breakfast on the beautiful terrasse. The staff was discreet. I spent my afternoons visiting the city and it was very easy to find my way back to the Riad though the Medina.
The place is located by a quiet street. It makes it very easy to grab a taxi to airport, train station or anywhere in the city. On that same street there is a nice little restaurant to grab bite when coming back after a long day. Not too far you can also find a cash point and convenient store for shampoos or other items. The staff was also very kind and went to get me some Arabic sweets to go with my evening tea every time I requested it.
The place has definitely charm and a home feeling. It is definitely what to be looking for when in Marrakech. I look for charm and not perfection. Tell them I sent you. ;-) Audrey.
