Travels | Camellas-lloret maison d’hôte, Carcassonne in France

Not sure where to go this Spring and Summer? We have a perfect gateway for you. And yes, we can say this they are our friends!  Meet Annie and Colin’s maison d’hôte in France. I met this lovely American/South African couple in Barcelona. They both own a perfect gateway near Carcassonne, near the frontier of Spain and France.

Annie is originally from NYC (artist, interior designer) met Colin (chiropractor, wellness consultant) on a train on the way to Paris. Their joint passion is renovation of abandoned houses. Once their kids grew up and after working on several properties in the US and France, they decided it would be fun to share one with guests.
Their objective was to share their slow-living philosophy,  get people to slow down and see the beauty in the authentic, local, and imperfect, and to take the time to get to know each other, share a meal or just chill with some good books and music…
The rooms have a subtle luxury- elegant proportions, fireplaces, extra-large beds, handmade futons, linen bedding, vintage furnishings, woolly rugs, squishy bathrobes and organic bath products. The guests can share communal dinners several times per week. There is also a communal lounge with extensive collection of coffee table books and  a bar featuring their signature cocktail  *white negroni*. We can also find a terrace,  garden  and fire pit for lounging
The region is also great for visiting: wineries, cathar castles, Carcassonne, the canal du midi, antiques shopping and food markets. Colin’s office is right across the street for tired travelers in need of wellness care.
