Beni Ourain carpets are considered the most prestigious rugs in Morocco, made from the very finest wool. Every piece is one of its kind, unique. The rugs are luxurious and perfect for any sort of home design. These stunning pieces are made from natural dyes to provide a soft, neutral colours that is popular with our interior design client base. It takes 280 hours of weaving to complete a Beni Ourain rug.

Moroccan Beni Ourain carpets are woven from undyed natural wool and traditionally decorated with brown/grey/black geometric designs. Made by nomadic tribes people, these rugs are elegantly simple in design, representing the sparse surrounds of the Moroccan landscape. The long shaggy pile of natural undyed wool, feels incredible under bare foot.

Beni Ourain rugs are woven from the natural ivory sheep wool that covers the sheep's body, the pattern is woven from the wool on the sheep's head, it looks black, but it is not, it is either dark brown, light brown, dark gray, or light gray. Sheep with jet black wool on their heads are rare.

Subtle, calming influence but with plenty of character. These rugs will easily suit any surrounding and the most discerning of tastes

Beni Ourain carpets are handwoven on looms, using a decades old technique and natural, undyed wool. The wool is highest grade, gathered from sheep raised over summer pastures on the high slopes of the Beni Ourain territory.

The Beni Ourain rug was born in the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco as method of cover during snowy winter months. What we know as the Beni Ourain rug is actually a thick, densely woven, furry blanket used by nomadic shepherds for warmth and cover. The thick, long strands of wool and dense weave call to mind a white bearskin.

Handknotted, where every knot is painstakingly tied to ensure the longevity of the rug.
Natural wool pile, undyed.
Wool warp and weft, which is only found in tribal rugs.
